SHORT DESCRIPTION AND COMMENTS

ROMANTIC VALENCE

The city and its evolution are fascinating. Discover the cathedral, the famous names connected to the old town, the charming Provencal-style squares. Valence is a city with so many facets: art, history, water and trade. Its multiple facets constitute an undeniable asset which leads you through different times and styles.

The Peynet Kiosk: the city’s gem

With the Valence kiosk as a backdrop, Peynet created The Lovers, which made him famous all over the world.

The Parc Jouvet: a green setting for the Peynet kiosk

Wander through this historical and enchanting park, an exceptional green haven set on the edge of the old town containing 700 different rare species of trees.  It will charm both young and old: trees, flowers, canals, monumental fountains, swans, deer, exotic birds… The ideal location for unforgettable photo souvenirs.

The "7 de PIC"

The restaurant has a view on the street but also on the patio. Mirroring the National 7, the route of yesterday's gastro-nomads, this bistro takes all the symbols of the road and reinterprets them in a décor that is baroque and full of humour. Napoleon III chandeliers, white dishes and red glasses, road signs on the floor, milestones, a bar for quick meals, Plexiglas chairs, bistro tables with handbag hooks… the colour scheme is red, asphalt grey and white under a sky-blue ceiling and set in the shade of black and white photographs of plane trees – an atmosphere both animated and chic!

Gérard Vialet space: permanent exhibition of Peynet’s works

Raymond Peynet's work is unlikely to be forgotten. Following the artist’s death, Gérard Vialet, established in rue Fernand Forest, Valence, ensures that Peynet's image of the Lovers will remain forever young. Gérard Vialet's latest creation is a line of romantic jewellery in the image of Peynet's famous Lovers. Gérard Vialet faithfully honours his love of Raymond Peynet.

A River Cruise

The river runs through the city, revealing secrets to cruise passengers as gentle waves carry them along this blue highway.  It is a unique and pleasant way to discover Valence and its surroundings from another perspective.
